Welcome to the first official post from the Britton blog. We hope that our posts will inspire, inform and stimulate discussion with our readers – not just those that work with Britton – but all readers in the trucking industry.
We thought it would be fitting to kick off our blog by telling a bit of the Britton story…
Britton Transport had humble beginnings. It started in the basement of Dave Britton’s home in 1980 in the Red River Valley of North Dakota and served as a truck brokerage service.
Built on the values of mutual respect, family, safety, improvement, and honesty, among others, Britton Transport stays true to its core principles, but has grown into a full-fledged fleet of services.
In 2012, when Dave decided to retire, Bison Transport purchased Britton; largely due to Britton’s track record, culture and safety – along with a lot of other shared synergies.
Britton still operates as a stand-alone business, but has the Bison team to share best practices and support operations. We experienced more than a 20 per cent growth annually, and currently have offices in Grand Forks, Sioux Falls and Des Moines, with a fleet of 100 trucks. Our mission is simple: to provide on-time, crash free and innovative transportation services, so our customers rely on us for their transportation needs.
Britton has a significant commitment to military veterans. We recognize that the skills acquired during ones military service directly relates to the success of our business. We are honored to employ veterans on our team.
We hope that you will follow our blog and comment and share the stories we tell. We also hope that you will come to us for all of your transportation needs. Thanks for reading!
