A veteran - whether active duty, retired, or national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America," for an amount of "up to and including THEIR LIFE." - Author unknown
42 years ago when then-Governor Ronald Reagan introduced returning POW John McCain he asked, “Where do we find such men?”
He was speaking of many veterans when he answered: “We find them in our streets, in the office, the businesses and the working places of our country.” President Reagan was referring to ordinary people accomplishing extraordinary things.
While fewer than 10% of our country’s population can claim the honor of being a veteran, I am proud to say that more than 30% of Britton Transport’s employees have served our country.
When passing our Veterans Wall each day, I am reminded and honored to work with those who were willing to serve and have fought for freedom, brought honor to their communities and loved their country.
Join me in being thankful for the extraordinary country that we live in while honoring the ordinary people all around us who have banded together to accomplish the extraordinary task of preserving our freedom.
The lives that have been sacrificed and the years of service given will not be forgotten by us, the proud group of Americans and our allies to the north at Bison Transport.
